I will teach you, monks, the Doctrine for the complete understanding of all clinging. Listen to it. And what, monks, [is] the Doctrine for the complete understanding of all clinging? Depending on the eye and forms, eye-consciousness arises. The meeting of the three [is] contact. From contact as condition, [there is] feeling. Thus seeing, monks, the learned disciple of the noble ones is disenchanted with the eye, is disenchanted with forms too, is disenchanted with eye-consciousness too, is disenchanted with eye-contact too, is disenchanted with feeling too. Being disenchanted, he becomes dispassionate. Through dispassion, [the mind] is released. Through emancipation, he understands: Clinging has been fully understood by me....

Depending on mind and mental objects, mind-consciousness arises. The meeting of the three [is] contact. From contact as condition, [there is] feeling. Thus seeing, monks, the learned disciple of the noble ones is disenchanted with the mind, is disenchanted with mental objects too, is disenchanted with mind-consciousness too, is disenchanted with mind-contact too, is disenchanted with feeling too. This, monks, is the Doctrine for the complete understanding of all clinging.
